About Darjeeling

Darjeeling is a town in the Indian state of West Bengal, located in the foothills of the Himalayan mountain range. Kanchenjunga, also spelled Kanchenjanga or Kanchenjonga, is the third highest mountain in the world, with an elevation of 8,586 meters (28,169 feet). It is located in the border of Nepal and Sikkim, India. The mountain is considered sacred by the people of Sikkim and is a major attraction for mountaineers and trekkers. You can see the peak of Kanchenjunga from several view points in Darjeeling, Some of the popular spots are Tiger Hill, Ghoom Monastery, and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. The best time to see Kanchenjunga from Darjeeling is during the months of October and November, when the monsoon season ends and the skies are clear. Many trekking and mountaineering expeditions to Kanchenjunga starts from Darjeeling and other nearby places.
